"BERNELIŲ SMUKLĖ" in Kaunas Centre
In 2001 in the heart of Kaunas the door opened the third restaurant of “BERNELIŲ UŽEIGA” chain. According visitors this is the warmest, cousiest and the most peaceful place in whole KAUNAS city. This is the best recommendation the most often said not only by Kaunas inhabitants but as well by foreign tourists.
It seems that “BERNELIŲ UŽEIGA” has inherited this good spirit from the antique shop which had operated in this building a few years ago. This spirit was treasured and cherished by the owner of the restaurant, who collected the household belongings from the farthest places of our country. And the most incredible thing – you can even hear the whisper oh the ghost who, most probably, is the oldest inhabitant in this old house...
You can realize yourself visiting your grandmother in an old Lithuanian village house. You can smell lime-blossoms and other Lithuanian herbs. Even then, when you don’t want to taste lime-blossom, mint, caraway seed or chamomile’s flavor tea, collected in the Lithuanian purest meadows, touched by summer sun, watered by rain and dried by rough wind.
