"BERNELIŲ UŽEIGA“ in Kaunas Old Town

“BERNELIŲ UŽEIGA” in old town was founded in the only wooden house in this area which was built in the beginning of XVIII century, and is included in the list of cultural monuments. The building is considered as a monumental object of a wooden architecture of Kaunas Old Town. According historical recourses this wooden house was brought to Kaunas from Vikšniai town.

Thanks to the owner you can still observe valuable cellar details. At the meantime cozy, fulfilled of rich ethnic spirit restaurant is flourishing on these foundations reminding us of Lithuanian folk museum which can return us few centuries back.

But it is enough about “BERNELIŲ UŽEIGA”. Its ancient spirit and authenticity is enhanced by seen around old buildings with stone walls, brick layered streets and the remains of KAUNAS Castle.
